The starting point for all Corr Guitars is high quality timbers. Soundboards are imported directly from suppliers in Alaska, Europe and America. A choice of Spruce (Engelmonn, Sitka, German) or Cedar is available, with each soundboard matched to the back and sides of each instrument for tonal quality, sustain and asthetics.
Back and sides timber is purchased direct from local timber merchants. I personally hand select these "slabs" which are then cut into back or side lengths. Each slab length is then cut on the bandsaw at + 6mm thick, numbered and matched to its corresponding bookmatch. These sets are packed with spacers between them and left to dry naturally for a period of 2 years and upward. As this is an ongoing process I am constantly buying/cutting and using new and exciting timbers. At present the focus is on Madagascan Rosewood and Sneezewood.
